Service Description

We can assist with legal agreements for the division of property owned by the parties, after separating from a marriage or relationship. We offer legal advice, negotiations, ongoing representation and Court representation in the Family Court. Our Principal has experience and an interest in complex property matters. WHAT DOES THIS INVOLVE? The separation of property often requires formalised legal agreements and/or Court Orders. There are a number of avenues to achieve this and each matter is determined based upon the circumstances and complexity of the parties. WHAT IS THE COST? The initial appointment is offered at $250. Our usual fees are [ reduced rate] of $400/ hour + gst. At your appointment, ongoing fees and estimated costs will be provided. Solicitors are obliged to provide a Costs Agreement setting out the work agreed to be performed. Our service is based on funds secured by Trust for anticipated works, which can be updated as the matter progresses, as applicable. WHAT NEXT? ANYTHING ELSE TO KNOW? Your appointment request needs to be approved. You may receive a phone call or email for further information and should not rely on this booking request until it has been confirmed, as lawyers have procedures we need to adhere to. Booking this service requires full payment upfront to cover the initial appointment ($275) at the time of your appointment or prior. If your appointment is confirmed you will receive a request for documentation to provide. Services are offered by Zoom or in person.


Cancellation Policy

You must provide the full names, including middle names, of yourself, the other person involved and the children (if relevant), and all of the birthdates. You must give a brief description, without too much detail about the dispute, e.g.: I need to have shared care of my children, or, I want to get divorced. Bookings are subject to final approval by the Principal and should not be taken as confirmed until you have received an email or text to this effect. The practice may call you for more details to proceed with an appointment. All Appointments are subject to screening processes for client conflicts, suitability of service and any other relevant factors. Please note, rarely appointments may be subject to change by the practice due to urgency of Court Matters, should this occur you will be given no less than twenty-four hours notice, where possible. Hourly fee paying clients are required to pay the initial fee upon arrival at the first appointment and thereafter on trust for ongoing accounts. Fixed account types, such as Divorce must pay 10% of the total fee upon arrival at the first appointment. Payments can be accepted for initial appointments by bank transfer upon acceptance or in person. You must bring valid photo identification to the appointment. Parents or Guardians of child clients must bring their own identification and the child's Birth Certificate or school photo identification to the first appointment.
